MA5-14722 targets Prolactin in ELISA, IP, and RIA applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The MA5-14722 immunogen is human Prolactin. MA5-14722 detects Prolactin which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 25 kDa. Product MA514722 is a smaller package size of MIP0202 (formerly sold as a Seradyn product). Prolactin (PRL) or Luteotropic hormone (LTH) is a peptide hormone discovered by Dr. Henry Friesen, primarily associated with lactation. In breastfeeding, the act of an infant suckling the nipple stimulates the production of prolactin, which fills the breast with milk via a process called lactogenesis, in preparation for the next feed. Oxytocin, another hormone, is also released, which triggers milk let-down.
